Hobsons Choice Designers visit the BORA Lab London for appliance training

THE BORA LAB, LONDON

As part of our new design team’s introduction to Hobson’s Choice and kitchen design, the group visited the BORA LAB, London for a day of teaching and tasting.

During the session, BORA’s highly-trained team demonstrated their innovative cooking and extraction technology, whilst explaining the origins and ethos of the company.

BORA Trainer, Claudius at BORA Lab London

Guy Foan, WINCHESTER

“A great afternoon with our host Claudius from the BORA LAB in Bermondsey, a very passionate man who clearly believes 100% in the BORA product and speaks with great affection for its founder ‘Willie’.

We learnt about their exciting new S Pure compact range launched this year along with the more established Pure, X Pure, Classic 2.0 and the Professional 3.0. This was a real hands-on training session looking at all the parts that make BORA unique, from the fluted polished internals of their ducting kit to their patented user-friendly S-Control module. BORA differs in its approach to extraction, focusing their research on maximising wind speed, this is the key to their success and highlight that the noise heard is not from their motor but the wind itself!

Pens and paper down, we were treated to a feast of Stir-fried Vegetables and mouth-watering steak, all prepared on the teppanyaki Pro 3.0. A fun and social way to wrap up an enjoyable event.”

“Spending the day at BORA was very insightful into what makes BORA different to any other brands out there. As an avid cook myself what really stood out to me was the engineering behind their products and why you won’t find any other extraction like it. My favourite part of the day was getting a hands-on experience with the products via a live cooking session accompanied by lots of questions and answers.

What really sold the BORA extraction technology to me the most was we cooked almost 9 whole steaks, in a relatively small space, and on the way home I couldn’t smell a drop of grease/fat or food on my clothes at all! It’s clear to see BORA’s technology really speaks for itself.”

Lydia Dagadu, SWINDON

“My experience at the BORA training was very enlightening I must say. I got to discover the history of the brand, the various exceptional products they offer and truly understand the technicality behind them and as a designer it opened my mind to possibilities of planning and design.

I particularly enjoyed seeing the products in action and it further confirmed to me the efficiency and durability of the products. It would be very interesting to see what new products they come with in the future as they have already started to venture outside just the cooktop designs.”

EMMA WOLFF, BATH

“The training we attended at Bora LAB in London was very informative and full of technical information, which I really appreciated. The host, Claudius, certainly impressed us with his 8 steaks in 10 mins on the teppanyaki plate, cooked with a variety of vegetables. It was a great experience and I thoroughly enjoyed the active training and the incredible cooking.”

BORA AND your NEW kitchen Project

BORA’s cooktop with integrated downdraft extraction is a popular choice amongst Hobson’s Choice clients. The appliance removes the need for more traditional overhead or head-height, hoods, and enables the flexible positioning of a cooktop.
