The Brief
When purchasing a new build Georgian-style townhouse on a development in Bath our clients desired a kitchen that offered the finest quality, functionality and style - only bulthaup b3 would do.
The Design
The floor space was divided into three zones, a living area, the working kitchen and a functional utility. Our clients didn’t wish to view the utility from the main open-plan living area, so, to separate the spaces, a Rimadesio Soho sliding door with opaque glass was designed to perfectly fill the opening.
The bulthaup b3 kitchen features a kitchen island that is held aloft on 8 narrow stainless steel legs. The clean, handleless design is finished in Gravel lacquered surfaces and topped with 10mm Quartz Brown synthetic stone worktop by bulthaup.
A flush-fitting BORA Pure recirculating downdraft induction cooktop removes the need for an overhead extractor. At the opposite end of the island, the iconic bulthaup b3 mixer tap reflects the structural appearance of the island legs.
The bulthaup b3 furniture system isn’t limited to just the kitchen. Here, the wall panel system has been used to create a flat panel TV display and floating sideboard arrangement.
The use of the b3 furniture, characterised by precise shapes, narrow horizontal lines and the quality of the surfaces, ties the room together.
The utility room provides more storage and functional worktop space. By simply sliding across one of the Rimadesio Soho sliding panels the utility becomes easily accessible and the kitchen nearly doubles in size.
The Rimadesio Soho sliding doors are designed and manufactured to perfectly fit the opening. Each sliding door panel is made to measure and can be styled in a variety of finishes including frame colour and glass opacity.
In this kitchen space, the Rimadesio Soho sliding doors were flush-mounted into the ceiling, hiding the ceiling track and providing the perfect visual appearance.
By extending the kitchen tall units upwards, a background of uniform colour is created and available storage space is maximised.
