“Hobsons Choice was recommended to me by a trusted friend of mine. After my first meeting with the team and a look around their impressive showroom I was assured my project was in the right hands. In fact I felt no further need to continue searching for other options.
When we visited the Bath showroom my wife was immediately taken by the kitchen that was on display and the decision to use them for our project was an easy one. The service provided by Richard Keyes, Design Consultant, met all of our expectations. He used high quality CAD software which was both realistic and capable of being rapidly updated thereby enabling us to understand the impact of suggested changes.
We were left with the impression that the process could take as long as we needed to be comfortable with the design and nothing was too much trouble. Richard made suggestions but also listened carefully and reacted to our input.
The installation team worked in a careful and clean manner and were always polite and happy to answer any questions/concerns that we raised.”

“We bought a new build property ‘off plan’ in 2018 but chose to have a bulthaup kitchen fitted by Hobsons Choice rather than the one supplied by the developer. This turned out to be a very good decision.
During a problematic two year build the service we received from Natasha and Richard was exceptional. They had to contend with design changes to the building, site issues caused by the developer and finally having to carry out the main installation work during lockdown.
In spite of all these issues the final result is stunning and we couldn’t be happier with our kitchen.

“I can honestly say that dealing with Hobsons Choice was a pleasure from start to finish. They were the only kitchen company who actually listened to the brief, and came back with drawings and designs which not only reflected what we wanted, but incorporated some brilliant new ideas. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and their showrooms were so comprehensively equipped that I have ended up with a far better range of kitchen hardware than I had ever known existed – I cannot now imagine life without a steam oven, let alone my boiling water tap! Or the induction hob, come to that.
They took responsibility for the whole project from start to finish, so that there was a seamless process from initial conversation through to returning home to a beautiful kitchen (with flowers, basic food and a bottle of champagne kindly provided by Richard Carter and his team). Our trust in Hobsons Choice was entirely justified, and their after-sales service has been superb. There were no panic phone calls or queries while we were away, and we came back to find everything was perfect (except that after 48 hours of travel I had to ring them to find out how to work the coffee machine!). We have returned to them for further work, for dining furniture, and for a new bathroom. They designed a special shelving unit to blend with the olivewood cupboards, admired by everyone.
Their workmen are of the highest calibre, and every detail is taken care of. Richard seemed to have an intuitive grasp of what I would like, and how I would want things to be, and that was very reassuring when you know you will be away for the entire project. hobsons|choice are a pleasure to deal with – two friends of mine are already using them thanks to my eulogies.”

“We wanted to create what we eventually learned to call a ‘media wall’. We picked Hobsons Choice in Winchester as they are local and who best understood what we were trying to achieve. Basically we wanted to take prominence away from our TV and to hide all of our media resources: hi-fi, music vault, Apple TV and so on. Decluttering and making a stylish focus. Guy designed the scheme for us with Remedesio italian made components, in glass and walnut
Once the components arrived they were fitted by Ben and Ben, to a standard way beyond expectations, to a level that puts everyone else in the shade. Every microscopic detail was attended to and exceeded. Shaun was drafted in to put in all the electrical fittings, sockets and switches that we needed, again a thorough and professional job. The final item is now in place and we are still smiling

“Our journey with Bulthaup/Hobsons Choice, Winchester began when renovating our home and we wanted a kitchen that would be at the heart of our living space. Our inspiartion for a Bulthaup kitchen was the beautiful cherrywood island as seen online when researching style and design.
From the moment we first visited the showroom in Winchester, Richard Carter and Richard Keyes were brilliant, in helping us explore the layout options, to maximise the kitchen space and views into the garden. We also visited the showroom in Swindon.
From then on, the amazing Pieter Du Toit guided us throughout the kitchen design and installation process. Pieter was attentive, patient and just superb.We tailored the colour chioces and use of materials to our vision and are delighted with the outcome. The fitters were also excellent and the attention to detail was second to none.

He gave us creative and practical advice that we would not have thought of, and which made the final design absolutely perfect. The build was also exceptionally well executed, and when a few unforeseen problems arose with pipework, the guys on site were able to offer solutions on the spot and ensure the job moved forward.

“We previously had a Bulthaup kitchen in a smaller build project several years ago and had been very happy with it, so when it came to building a new house we didn’t hesitate to choose Bulthaup again. Preferring to use local suppliers where possible, Winchester was the nearest showroom.
Pieter du Toit was our designer and we immediately felt in safe hands. He completely understood the nature of the house design and what we were trying to achieve. In fact, apart from the odd tweak here and there, one of his first designs was pretty much what we ended up going with. As well as a main Bulthaup kitchen, for a back kitchen and laundry room Pieter suggested using Schüller. The quality and finish of both of these Schüller rooms is also excellent.
With COVID and the vagaries of a new build to contend with, Pieter was both patient and supportive - a voice of calm when many other things on the project were far from it! He communicated promptly and efficiently, both to us and our builder which ensured that both schedules worked seamlessly. So impressed were the builders that they have subsequently recommended him to other clients.
From the initial concept, to the skill and craftsmanship of the fitters and the quality of all the finished products, I can highly recommend Bulthaup and Pieter and the team at Hobson’s Choice Winchester. Huge thanks to all involved, we are thrilled with everything.”
